WHY THE PROPHETIC VIEWS OF THE JEWS
LED THEM TO REJECT JESUS
AND WHY CHRISTIANS FACE THE SAME DANGER TODAY

     Bible Prophecy means everything to the Bible believing Christian. The entire framework of man's salvation is based on what GOD has said will come to pass. "Declaring the end from the beginning, and things that are not yet done" GOD has proven every evidence to assure His saints that His "word is true from the beginning." Isa.46:10; Ps.119:160. And every time His prophecies have been maligned by self-serving apostates, tragedy always results. And when the people's expectations are dashed they are tempted to "curse God and die." Satan is tireless in his temptations on the vain imaginations of men.

     And because of the sophistries of the enemy of life we want to study the three primary reasons Orthodox Judaism rejected Jesus, even unto this day and see the parallel between them and today's ruling Christianity, and how both of these religious systems will stand condemned. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." II Cor.5:10.

     The three stumbling blocks of Jewish theology are:

1.     Misinterpreting the prophecies of the Messiah

2.     Maligning the character of the Christ

3.     Refusing to take up the Cross of Agape [Heaven’s benevolent love for all men]

     To think that today’s Christianity has made a pact with the apostate Jews is foolishness on a host of levels. We need to see the treachery against Christ and “the Spirit of prophecy,” and how this union of Christianity with Jewry stands under the auspices of “Satan, which deceiveth the whole world” (Rev.12:9).

     There are two leading prophecies of the coming Messiah that are key to the misunderstanding in Orthodox Judaism. The first was the prophecy of Balaam: “I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.” Nu.24:17.

     And the second is like unto it: “And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.” Isa.11:1-4.

     The Jews viewed these prophecies as a single event. But in each of these prophecies are contained all three advents of "the Christ." In His first advent Jesus came as ‘the suffering servant’ (Isa.53). In His second advent at “the first resurrection” and translation of the living Jesus comes as “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (I Thess.4:15-18; Rev.19:16). And at His third advent He raises the "evil doers" at "the second resurrection." Said Christ of this time: "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." Jn.12:48.

     It is at the close of the judgment of sin and sinners that GOD the Father sends "fire...down...out of heaven" and consumes every trace of sin’s presence on the Earth. This is the hellfire the Bible speaks of. The life and work of Satan and his minions will come to an end. "And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing." Isa.10:27. This is immediately followed with the re-creation of the Earth to its pristine glory, as it stood "In the beginning" (Rev.20-21). All that was lost through sin will be restored. This is the great promise of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

     It was "because of the blindness of their heart" that the rabbis of Judaism missed their great calling. And by spurning the earnest tugs of the Holy Spirit on their hearts they misunderstood the great span of time that GOD condensed into the prophecies of Jesus Christ. This principle is shown in the very first prophecy in Genesis where Satan would wound the "heel" of Jesus Christ while Christ would wound the "head" of Satan (Gen.3:15).

     It was based on this false theology concerning the Messiah that all of Judæa (including the disciples of Christ) stood in the ignorance of the popular views of prophecy asserted by the rabbis: that the Messiah would come and immediately establish His reign on the Earth, crush the Roman oppressors, and give the Jews power to rule over the Earth. This snare of Satan's devising, having proven its success with the Jews finds its counterpart with our Christian leaders today. This same pride and ignorance is found in today’s views of prophecy, including those asserted in Christianity, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, and even Islam who all stand united in the false belief that Christ will come and immediately establish a millennial reign on the Earth. They all stand in denial of Christ's own words: "My kingdom is not of this world" (Jn.18:36). When Jesus comes for His bride He remains in the sky. He does not descend to the Earth. At His 2nd Advent He comes precisely as Jude and Paul gave prophetic utterance: "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints [angels], To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him." "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air." Ju.14,15; I Thess.4:17. Every verse of Scripture ascribed to Christ's 2nd Advent and its aftermath on the Earth has been blatantly slandered by religious charlatans: "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ." II Cor.11:13. Fact: false expectations rule the religious world, not the clear words of Jesus Christ and His Apostles.

     This is why it is imperative for the Christian to know both the boundaries of GOD'S salvation and the prophecies for future events, "rightly dividing the word of truth," "for the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." II Tim.2:15; Heb.4:12.

     Lastly, on this issue of the Jewry's corruption of GOD'S salvation, we see the spirit of belligerent hatred against the LORD Jesus Christ. Orthodox Jews who follow the Talmud (over and above the Old Testament) expose their demonic hatred of Jesus Christ in their famous rabbinic curse: “May the bones of the hands and the bones of the fingers decay and decompose, of him who turns the pages of the book of Daniel, to find out the time of Daniel 9:24-27, and may his memory rot from off the face of the earth forever.”—Talmudic Law, p.978, Section 2, Line 28.

     The reason Daniel’s prophecy is forbidden is simple: The “seventy weeks” prophecy of Daniel, 9:24-27 is the pinnacle of proof for the Gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. Through simple arithmetic (that a little child can understand) the prophetic time-line of 490 years is historically verified; from the decree of Artaxerxes in the year 457 B.C. (Ref. Thompson Chain Reference Bible, Ezra 7:13-26) to the stoning of Stephen in 34 A.D. (Acts 7:51-60). And therefore, the infallible prophecy of Christ is confirmed. The luciferian character of Talmudic Jews is pathetic beyond words. The forgiveness the Father offers is despised. They would rather die than believe "God is love" (I Jn.4:8).

     To further confirm the prophecy’s association with Jesus Christ, the prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 decreed the exact year in earth’s history when Jesus would lay down His life for the sins of the world: just 3½ years into His ministry; the time of His crucifixion in 31 A.D.: “And He [Jesus Christ] shall confirm the covenant [the promise of salvation] with many [the Jewish nation] for one week [the last seven years of the “seventy weeks” prophecy]: and in the midst of the week [in the year 31 A.D., three and a half years into His ministry reconciling man to GOD] He [Jesus Christ] shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease” [the rending of the temple veil by an unseen hand at the instant of Christ's death fulfilled the obligation of the sacrificial system first begun with Adam and Eve, and elaborated through the Mosaic law, effecting its end, as it is written, “the veil of the temple was rent in twain” (Matt.27:51)].

     Here is where today’s Christianity stands united in their belligerence with Talmudic Jews against Jesus Christ. They ascribe v.27 to their fabricated future Antichrist in the so-called “seven year tribulation.” Here is the church's rendering of that sacred verse: “And He [the coming Antichrist] shall confirm the covenant [a treaty made with today’s nation Israel] with many [the Orthodox Jews] for one week [the last seven years of the “seventy weeks” prophecy]: and in the midst of the week [three and a half years into the treaty] He [the Antichrist] shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease” [bring an end to the sacrificial system the Orthodox Jews have made plans to reinstate].

     These near-universal expectations of the Christian church will be fulfilled under Satan's authority—as far as GOD allows. This is where Bible literacy is key to the success of every Christian who will witness the closing scenes of Earth's history. Today’s Romanism and Jewry stand as one to deny the Christ just as they stood together against their common foe, Jesus Christ when He walked the Earth declaring, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." Mk.1:15. And as they united to crucify the world’s redeemer then, they are united today to destroy Christ (in the person of His saints). So many warnings of the LORD are disregarded. Nevertheless, Jesus said, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Matt.25:40,45.

     Every Bible believing Christian needs to know and to understand that every major event that is unfolding in the world today leads to the consolidation of this single objective: to establish the universal reign of sin on the Earth. To accomplish this the faithful and obedient Christians must be removed from the Earth (Rev.13:15). And when this ultimatum is given for life or death the saints will declare as did Joseph when he was urged to trample GOD'S gift of salvation: "how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" Gen.39:9.

     This apostasy, seen from both Talmudic Jews and Christians alike assaults the gift of salvation from both sides of the Ten Commandment Law. In essence, the Jews claim implicit obedience to the Ten Commandments but reject the Law Giver, Jesus Christ (Jn.8:58). The Apostle John warned of this trap of condemnation: "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." I Jn.5:12. While today’s Christianity claims to obey the Saviour they reject His Ten Commandment Law as the Standard for Christian living. Catholicism rejects two of the Ten Commandments, while nominal Protestants reject one of the Ten. And yet, the words of Peter and James rebuke the whole notion that man can be saved in an unrepentant posture to any of the Ten Commandments: “For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.” “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.” II Pet.2:21; Ja.2:12.

     The Bible repeatedly asserts that the union between Christ and the Ten Commandments cannot be severed. Among the grand prophecies of Jesus Christ it is written: "he will magnify the law, and make it honourable." Isa.42:21. The Law Jesus obeyed to redeem us is the same Law that Satan disobeyed, and as a result was cast out of heaven (Eze.28:16). It is the same Law that Adam & Eve disobeyed, and were cast out of the garden of Eden (Gen.3:24). And it is the same Law that the Jews disobeyed that led to their captivity, their rejection of Jesus, and their forfeiture of salvation. And it will be the same Sacred Law the churches disobey that brings the battle of Armageddon. It judges demons and sinners alike (Rom.2:13; I Cor.6:2,3). In the very first sermon of the LORD recorded in the Bible, Jesus declared His implicit allegiance to the Sacred Law and the danger of man's transgression of GOD'S Law: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil...Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least [lesser] commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least [unworthy of salvation] in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Matt.5:17.

     While the righteousness of Christ covers every ignorant sin of those who desire to serve Him [and there are many whose genuine faith desires to serve Jesus (Nu.15:28)], this does not remove the danger of eternal destruction to those who know full well the commandments of GOD and yet think they can bully their way into heaven—with no remorse—no repentance.

     So, Jesus Christ gives His appeal to all who stand in disobedience to even one of the Ten Commandments: “What is written in the law? how readest thou?” “But if thou wilt enter into life keep the commandments.” Lu.10:26; Matt.19:17. And Christ’s Apostle John encourages us that the Law is not bondage, but the freeing of the soul to relish the Presence of GOD in the heart—by faith (Rom.8:10): “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” I Jn.5:3.
