Look at all the life on Earth. Its spectrum of diversity leaves one to stand in total amazement. And with all the attributes that have been provided to sustain life in the balance of nature we wonder how it all came into being. We see how the animal kingdom demonstrates the same love, care, and friendship that people experience. None of the creatures including man willed these blessings of life into place. We were born into the flow of these blessings. We gave no consent to be placed where we are, when we are, and what we are. In this constant flow of love’s demonstration is seen the very heart and motivation of our Creator.

     But we deserve an answer to explain the many and even brutal hardships that so many among the human race face every day. In all of those things imposed on us that are threatening to our lives our Creator has made provision in His great plan to rescue His children from all that threatens life. His plan goes back to the beginning of man’s decision to sin, and is called the Gospel of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This message was first established with Adam and Eve. While this little homily will refrain from dwelling on the cause and effect of where we are as a civilization and where our course is heading, we do want to answer the essential questions of life: Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? And what is my destiny?

     So who are we? and why are we here? and what is our purpose? The human race represents the pinnacle of all created life: the apex of resemblance to The GOD of Heaven. Our limitless capacities of mind, creativity, reproduction, and above all, happiness, were designed to thrive for all eternity. We were especially chosen by GOD to receive not only His rescue from the cancer of sin that is destroying life but also to receive the blessed knowledge that His deliverance could only be accomplished through the principle of adoption. The once enslaved human race that was marked for eternal death has been rescued, not only to everlasting life but also exalted to the highest position among all created beings. Mankind has been legally adopted into The Very Triune of GOD through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Lu.19:10).

     Throughout the heavens and throughout all eternity the wonder of salvation through Jesus will captivate every heart and soul. Everything that has been given to Jesus: His glorified body, His kingdom called “New Jerusalem” that will one day reside on "the new earth,” even His position on the Father’s Throne—all this and more we are called to share with Him! Said Jesus, “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.” Rev.3:21. Christ alone is the bridge whereby all mankind may cross to heaven “without money and without price” (Isa.55:1). And all He asks is to believe His Words of blessing and warning written in the Bible.

     But what is our destiny? The Bible answers this question in accordance with human aspiration. All that man desires to be: in character, in harmony with the laws preserving life, and beauty, Jesus Christ has ever been. In harmony with the thoughts and emotions of GOD, man will experience the companionship of His Eternal Love by sharing, exploring and continually inventing creative expressions that imitate of GOD’S own creative expressions. Man longs to emulate the ways of GOD seen through His creative genius. All of today’s technology has its origin in the examples we see in nature. And His infinite diversity will keep His children busy in the study and learning of life’s wonders forever.

     The Limitless Magnificence of GOD is beyond man's ability to fully comprehend as the Apostle Paul wrote: “0 the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!” Rom.11:33. What can be understood of GOD’S character and purpose for us is revealed in the Bible. There is no other source from which this truth may be found. Its very first words describe the leading attribute of GOD: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Gen.1:1. He is the Author of all that exists. And His sovereign authority oversees every aspect of His Creation. But, to understand the character of GOD we merely look at the life of Jesus Christ, whose sole purpose, the Bible says has ever been and will ever be to serve life: its preservation, its desires, and its happiness (Matt.20:28).

     From the very beginning “the LORD” who became “the Christ” has watched over His children. Over 800 verses of Scripture teach that it was “the Son of God” Who created the stars, angels and man. He spoke all into existence, as the Apostle John said: “In the beginning was the Word [an old Jewish term for the Creator], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…all things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made…and the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us.” Jn.1:1-14.

     At the Father’s command “the Son” carried forward the creation of life. And when the life of Earth became trapped in the bondage of sin and death, Jesus came to the rescue, openly declaring the Father’s salvation through His willingness to sacrifice “His only begotten Son.” And it is the shedding of His blood that is the key component of His sacrifice as GOD said, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood.” Lev.17:11. Therefore, Jesus literally poured out His Life on the Cross of Calvary to demonstrate to us and the angels above just how far He will go to save, in obedience to His Father’s Will, as He said, “it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.” Matt.18:14.
